A Cambridge college will rename its China Centre and has pledged to be more transparent about its funding after The Times revealed that its director had trained Communist Party figures to become better leaders.
Professor Peter Nolan, via a trust he runs, taught hundreds of the authoritarian regime’s most powerful corporate bosses as well as party officials between 2005 and 2019.
Jesus College said Cambridge China Development Trust would no longer fund the centre and instead it would be paid for directly by the college.
