An Oxford college appears to have dropped plans to name itself after a tycoon whose airline staff wear bikinis, after an expected donation did not materialise.
Linacre College, founded in 1962, a graduate constituent college of Oxford University, had planned to change its name to Thao College.
It was promised a donation of £155 million from Sovico Group, whose chairwoman is Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao.
However, alumni were told at a dinner this month that the college no longer expects to receive the funds owing to restrictions imposed by the Vietnamese government on outward donations, The Sunday Telegraph reported.
