On Monday 5 February, the Russell Group was pleased to welcome a delegation from universities in the Netherlands to discuss generative AI in education – and the opportunities and challenges it presents.
Representatives of 14 Dutch research-intensive universities were in London to meet with a range of businesses and organisations on the theme of AI in education. During the workshop at the Russell Group’s offices in Westminster, the group learned more about the Russell Group’s principles of AI in education – developed by member universities and AI experts and launched in July 2023 – and how they are being implemented to help staff and students make the most of new technologies in ethical and responsible ways.
The workshop covered topics including best practice in assessments, how AI tools may support greater inclusivity, and the opportunities for innovation in teaching and learning to help prepare our graduates for future work and careers where the use of AI tools is likely to become commonplace.
