The deputy leader of Cambridge University has admonished Liz Truss for interfering with its admission policies after she said all students with three A*s at A-level should be guaranteed an interview at Oxford or Cambridge.
The Tory leadership hopeful’s plans would entail changing the admissions process to one that allowed students to apply to university only after receiving their grades, something considered and recently rejected by Nadhim Zahawi when he was education secretary.
