A Scottish history professor has admitted she has withdrawn dozens of books from her courses after students complained they found content about colonialism “difficult to handle”.
Tanja Bueltmann, a professor of history at Strathclyde University, said universities removing books from reading lists to protect students from “challenging” content was not unusual and part of being a responsible teacher.
