An Oxford university economist has defended an academic at the centre of a sex discrimination row and said the University of Glasgow failed her.

Professor Jonathan Michie, the president of Kellogg College, told an employment tribunal he believed that Jeanette Findlay, also an economist, met the qualifications to become a professor in 2020 but had been rejected by the institution because of its “old-fashioned” promotions system.
