It’s a bold statement – particularly in a turbulent period where institutions grapple with post-pandemic restriction teaching and concerns about low student attendance and engagement. This courageous principle fed directly into the University of Leeds 2025 Access and Student Success Strategy, in which Vice Chancellor Simone Buitendijk claims that providing “students from all backgrounds with fair opportunities to study and thrive” is a “moral obligation.”
