Scottish universities will soon earn more from international students than from the block grant in what a report has called an “unsustainable” change.
Universities Scotland, the umbrella body for higher education, has published analysis which suggests that teaching grants are on course to fall 37 per cent in real terms in the ten years to 2024-25. Principals also face a 41 per cent reduction in research funding.
