Thousands more young Indian professionals will be able to work in the UK from next year, but Rishi Sunak has played down hopes of a trade deal.
As he prepared to meet Narendra Modi, the Indian prime minister, Sunak pointed to his own experience of “the deep cultural and historic ties we have with India” as he pledged to build stronger links with the country.
