Paul Johnson, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, had been awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the University of York.
The University of York confers honorary degrees on ‘distinguished people from all walks of life who have made a significant contribution to society.’
Paul Johnson was awarded the honorary degree by Professor Emma Tominey, Professor of Economics at the University of York, who stated: “Paul Johnson is an example of what we mean by ‘serving for the public good’, and is an inspiration to all of our graduating students about the vital importance of public service.”
