Community, the union for education and early years, has expressed its concern that Ofsted will only give schools notice of a Monday inspection on the preceding Friday.

National Officer Helen Osgood said:

“When many staff are already at burnout, this uncalled for move from the inspectorate will drive workloads through the roof as staff will feel pressured to work through the weekend in preparation.

“This burden will be particularly felt by school leaders.

“Ofsted states that it does not require headteachers to do additional work specifically for inspections, but this is not the reality of the situation for many.
