On International Women’s Day (8 March), GovernorHub is shining a light on the important, yet often hidden, roles of the paid governance professional.
Its report, 'Women's Work? Benchmarking pay and exploring working patterns for our governance professionals in schools and trusts' looks at how the salaries fare against equivalent roles in comparable sectors, and at working patterns including flexible working and career breaks.
In addition, the research explores whether these roles are as female dominated as is commonly understood.
The data came from a survey of 1,298 governance professionals (1,055 clerks, 100 governance co-ordinators and 143 governance leads) and highlights 6 key findings and several related recommendations.
