How is inspection evolving in Church of England schools?
The inspection framework, updated by the Church of England and Methodist Church, evaluates the quality and distinctiveness of their schools; now without a grade.
I've read the 24-page annual report and their 14-page inspection framework, and I've summarised it for you below. In particular, I approach these documents with the perspective of graded inspections.
Emerging in the early 1990s, SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) is an inspection process under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005, specifically designed for Church of England and Methodist schools.
They are responsible for approximately 4,630 Church of England schools across England and Wales, educating one million children.
