A big mental health programme is being introduced in schools with the help of a suicide prevention charity.
The service will be offered in 1,000 state secondary schools and will allow pupils the chance to complete a mental wellness “check-in”.
Govox Wellbeing has been developed with NHSX, a government unit that sets health policy, and King’s College London. Papyrus, a suicide prevention charity, is involved with the scheme along with the Mental Health Foundation and local Mind groups.
Pupils will answer a series of short questions about their overall mental health, which will provide a “wellbeing score”, as well as flagging any findings of concern and highlighting pupils whose mental health is at “high risk”.
