Lessons on treating women and girls with respect will be part of the school curriculum under a Labour government, Sir Keir Starmer has said.
In a series of pledges designed to reduce violence against women by half, the Labour leader said boys would receive classes to ensure victims do not 'do the heavy lifting' on the matter.
Sir Keir also said spiking will be made a specific criminal offence if his party win the next general election.
Reducing harassment and violence against women must be a 'boys and young men issue as well', the Labour leader stressed.
He said: 'This cannot be left to women and girls and victims of harassment to do the heavy lifting, it has to be a boys and young men issue as well.'
The lessons would include hearing direct testimony from victims of abuse.
