Members of NASUWT-The Teachers’ Union at Durham High School for Girls will be taking the first of three planned days of strike action tomorrow (Thursday) over bullying and intimidation by school management.
Members have been subject to a long-standing culture of adverse management practices and treatment which has undermined their wellbeing, health and safety in the workplace.
Dr Patrick Roach, General Secretary of the NASUWT, said:
“We have given the employer every opportunity to address the concerns of members about the way they are being managed and have presented them with hard evidence of the level of fear and anxiety that staff at the school are experiencing.
“Yet despite this, the school has still failed to challenge and change the working practices and behaviour which is seriously undermining teachers’ wellbeing and morale.
