“ASCL is hugely proud to support ‘Thank a Teacher Day’. We owe teachers and leaders a huge debt of gratitude at any time, but even more so now following two years of the pandemic during which time education has been disrupted more than at any point since the Second World War.
“They’ve delivered remote learning, managed a whole raft of public health tasks, supported vulnerable pupils in school during the national lockdowns, delivered food to disadvantaged children, assessed their students and provided grades when exams were cancelled, and worked tirelessly to help pupils catch-up with lost learning. It has been a monumental effort and there is no let up now as they support their students through the first public exams and national assessments for three years.
