The majority of people would be shocked to hear that the Scottish Government ignores the recommendations of the United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights, but in the case of religious worship in schools this is the reality.
Currently the law in Scotland means that all primary and secondary schools must hold regular acts of religious observance “sufficiently frequently to have an impact on the spiritual development of the school community”.
