The first female head teacher of Gordonstoun is leaving to take over as principal of Scotland’s largest private school.

Lisa Kerr has served as principal of the King’s former school for more seven years and will leave in the autumn of next year to become head of George Watson’s College in Edinburgh.

Kerr was the first female principal of Gordonstoun in its 89-year history and during her tenure she led a programme of capital investment in the school.

She will become the fifth principal of George Watson’s College, succeeding Melvyn Roffe after ten years in the role.

Peter Green, the executive headmaster of the Rugby School Group, will take over as principal at Gordonstoun.
