Scotland is one of the few countries worldwide not to share centralised exam results with parents or the public, a report has found.
Most of the 50 participating countries that belong to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) publish aggregated results of centralised examinations in some form.
Critics have described the Scottish reluctance to share data as “shameful” and called on the SNP to comply with international standards.
The OECD report, Education at a Glance, says: “Most countries disseminate the results of national/central assessments aggregated at country/state level through press releases to the media and make them available to the general public through a public website.
