Embarrassment about sex education will be tackled by the children’s commissioner, who has been asked by ministers to investigate lessons.

Pornography, consent and sexting are supposed to be covered in relationships and sex education (RSE), and the Everyone’s Invited and #MeToo movements have fuelled demands for good quality content. However, the government is worried that the awkwardness of teachers and teenagers means the subject might not be covered fully.
