A teacher whose alleged abuse is said to have destroyed the childhoods of Nicky Campbell, the BBC presenter, and countless other boys received a flattering tribute from the then rector when he left Edinburgh Academy, it has emerged.
Dozens of complaints have been received about “Edgar”, 82, who cannot be named for legal reasons, who is said to have been a serial sex offender at the school between 1968 and 1973.
