Education experts have urged Kit Malthouse to do more than apply “sticking plasters” to Britain’s schooling system, while warning the new Education Secretary has limited time to address urgent issues before the next general election.
Mr Malthouse was appointed Education Secretary last night in the first Cabinet reshuffle under new Prime Minister Liz Truss, making him the fourth person to hold the role in just two months and the fifth in a year.
