An unrepentant head teacher today refused to back down after kicking pupils out of classes for wearing the wrong sort of black socks.
Alun Ebenezer said he was 'determined to raise standards' at the Deepings School in Lincolnshire, which Ofsted inspectors have twice rated as 'requiring improvement'.
On Monday, 50 children were put into isolation for breaching the school's strict uniform code.
These included students who wore the wrong kind of black socks, with some told they were too short, even though no skin appeared to be showing in pictures taken by one father.
Furious parents have hit out at the school and accused Mr Ebenezer of being 'heavy handed' and running a 'police state'.
