The King’s former school has distanced itself from out-of-court settlements of more than £500,000 to two former pupils who said they were the victims of sexual assaults at what is now its junior school.

Gordonstoun said the abuse took place at Aberlour House, which was a feeder for the senior school at the time of the incidents in the 1990s and a “separate” entity. Although the two pupils went on to Gordonstoun, it was the insurers for Aberlour House who made payments to “Kate”, whose name has not been disclosed, and John Findlay.
