Schools should not turn history lessons into “nice, comforting stories” to please activists, a Cambridge professor advising ministers on the curriculum has said.
Prof Robert Tombs, a fellow of St John’s College and professor emeritus of French history, is a member of a working group appointed to develop a model history.
