Members of NASUWT-The Teachers’ Union in Scotland will take strike action tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday over the failure to offer teachers a fair and decent pay award.
A typical teacher in Scotland is almost £50,000 worse off as a result of their pay failing to keep pace with inflation since 2010, a loss which will be further compounded by the current below-inflation pay offer.
The NASUWT is calling for a fully funded 12% pay award for 2022/23.
Following the strike action, NASUWT members will begin a programme of ongoing action short of strike action from 9 December.
