Schools across the country will be closed today after a weekend of snow and freezing temperatures.
Yellow warnings of ice, fog and snow are in place for much of the UK, with some parts of the country seeing further snowfall in the early hours of Monday.
The Met Office issued the alerts as temperatures are expected to stay around 0C even in the daytime, creating the risk of icy conditions on roads and pavements.
The Arctic conditions have forced a number of schools in some regions to shut their gates for the day, including Cornwall, Devon and Gloucestershire.
