Ian Bauckham, an academy trust boss who advises ministers and chairs Ofqual and the Oak National Academy, has been knighted in the new year’s honours list.
He is one of 63 people with links to the English school system recognised for their work in education.
Overall there were three knighthoods and damehoods, six CBEs, 19 OBEs, 22 MBEs and 12 BEMs for the sector, as well as one Companion of the Order of the Bath, a special honour for civil servants.
