A greater proportion of schools have received top grades in Ofsted inspections this academic year than in 2021-22, new data shows.

An official analysis of outcomes since September shows that 21 per cent of schools inspected were rated ‘outstanding’, as of the end of December.

Sixty-five per cent received an overall ‘good’ rating.

This compares with 17 per cent of schools being rated outstanding, and 61 per cent good at the end of the last academic year.
