Teachers in Northern Ireland are set to take part in strike action next month.

The NASUWT and INTO unions have confirmed their members will take part in a half-day strike on the morning of February 21 over pay.

The NASUWT is calling for a fully funded 12% pay award for 2022/23.

Dr Patrick Roach, NASUWT general secretary, said its members started action short of strike last May, which they have escalated twice since then.

“The union has now announced a half day of strike in furtherance of our campaign for a Better Deal for Teachers,” he said.
