The number of Ukrainian children enrolled in Irish schools has increased by over 50 per cent in the past month to reach almost 6,000.
The Department of Education said that 5,843 Ukrainian students had been enrolled in schools across Ireland by last Friday. Of these, 3,968 are in primary schools and 1,875 in post-primary schools. A month ago, the total was 3,800.
