Andy Buck
Andy Buck uses his knowledge as a teacher and leader to reflect on the positives and negatives of his 30 years of experience, in particular the importance of self-awareness and the ability to recognise the strengths and weaknesses of the people we lead.
Drawing on examples of schools he has worked in, Buck takes an evidence-based approach to describing what good school leadership looks like, and presents ways for readers to adapt his teachings to their own work.
Buck stresses the importance of reflection, feedback and progression. The book includes diagrams and frequent references to research and the views of other respected educators. Split into four sections it covers personal qualities; context; leadership actions and leadership approach.
