Examining the type of support pupils need to develop the cognitive skills, values, attitudes and attributes needed for lifetime success, this book sets out a method for encouraging high performance in pupils.

The authors argue that it is important to teach pupils how to think and behave, with thinking encompassing seeing the big picture, building the imagination through creative thinking, while also developing logical and critical thinking.

They suggest that pupils need perseverance and a ‘can do’ attitude, to be open minded and curious, and to make sure they engage with planned and deliberate practice.
