The first of two volumes of the Innovative Teaching for Effective Learning (ITEL) project, this section focusses on the development of new means to assesses teachers' pedagogical knowledge. Volume II will deliver the results of these new means of assessment.

While pedagogical knowledge has long been regarded as a 'static' aspect of teachers' expertise, this project instead views pedagogical knowledge as an evolutionary and constantly changing aspect of the profession.
